EKC PR Welcomes Young Renowned CG/VFX Artist & Designer, Alejandro Robledo Mejia, To Its Roster of Clientele

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 28, 2016) – EKC PR is proud to welcome 23-year-old Alejandro Robledo Mejia, a professional CG/VFX artist, animator and designer at Imaginary Forces, and founder of RMA Design, to its client roster.

Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, Alejandro began his entrepreneurial and artistic career at the age of 15 when he launched Mandawaka, his international fashion line for surfers. With determination running through his veins, Alejandro traveled to America to further his education at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, and then at MICA in Baltimore, Maryland. He went on to earn a BFA in graphic design while developing his future plans/goals.

With a mission of working in motion graphics, Alejandro set his sights on Los Angeles after earning a job at the award-winning creative design house Imaginary Forces (the company behind the main titles for Netflix’s Stranger Things). Surrounded by a fabulous team of some of the hottest players in the business, Alejandro has recently contributed animation and typography for the look and video transitions (Directed by Grant Lau) at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, modeled 3D viruses for the teaser trailer (Directed by Karin Fong) of National Geographic’s 2016 documentary Zero Days, and crafted high-speed bullet shots in the promo (Directed by Michelle Dougherty) for National Geographic’s new series No Man Left Behind.

Alejandro’s stunning 3D designs for media platforms across film, advertising and entertainment are birthed from strict analysis and technical excellence. He predicts that GPU-based computing is not only enabling the entertainment industry but will soon be disrupting every industry.

“I am passionate about tech and engineering innovations in the design world and seek to make my own breakthroughs through the study of computer science,” explains Alejandro. “My zeal towards creating unique content has led me to explore the infinite possibilities that code and Houdini could achieve, mixed with the utilization of OctaneRender, a massive accelerator, allowing for real-time renders up to 50 times faster than CPU-based, unbiased renderers.”

With an innate ability to push the limits of design, technology and computer engineering, Alejandro Robledo Mejia is most certainly on a path toward continued innovation in this space.

Our House Films’ “Kickboxer: Retaliation” Cast Goes Big Time With Roy “Big Country” Nelson

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 15, 2016) – UFC heavyweight fighter Roy Nelson, also known as “Big Country,” has joined the cast of the upcoming film Kickboxer: Retaliation. Scheduled for a 2017 release, this is the second installment in the new trilogy reboot based off the 1989 hit movie Kickboxer, which was a worldwide box-office phenomenon starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.

As a trained mixed martial artist and former professional rugby player, Roy Nelson is set to appear in the new film alongside previously announced fighting champions like Mike Tyson, Georges St. Pierre, Fabrício Werdum, Ronaldinho, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. He will portray an inmate in prison who is training the character of Kurt Sloan to fight for his life.

“Roy’s determination during our initial shoot in Las Vegas last month showed us that he obviously has a genuine love for the screen,” said Producer Rob Hickman of Our House Films. “His intriguing performance led our team to expand his role in the film and we believe this could open further doors, ultimately being a crossover opportunity for him. Roy will now be heading to Thailand to work with the rest of the cast.”

Kickboxer: Retaliation is set to continue the storyline from where Kickboxer: Vengeance will leave off, bringing Kurt Sloan forcibly back to Thailand to fend for his life against a new formidable foe named Mongkut––portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson of Game of Thrones fame.

“I am intensely passionate in bringing these characters to life, as I myself hold two black belts in martial arts,” remarks the film’s Writer and Director Dimitri Logothetis.

Dimitri’s company Acme Rocket Fuel has teamed up with Our House Films as the production houses behind Kickboxer: Retaliation, where he is also serving as Producer alongside Rob Hickman. The Executive Producers are Larry Nealy, Jay Strommen and Steven Swadling.

The first in the trilogy, Kickboxer: Vengeange, stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Alain Moussi, Dave Bautista and Gina Carano, and will be hitting theaters and VOD this September. Its anticipated sequel, Kickboxer: Retaliation, will follow soon after in 2017!

Jean-Claude Van Damme Makes History As He Signs Movie Contract, Via Social Media, To Star In “Kickboxer: Retaliation”

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 6, 2016) – Fans of the Kickboxer film franchise can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their star fighter Jean-Claude Van Damme has officially joined the cast of Kickboxer: Retaliation; the sequel to this September’s Kickboxer: Vengeance (of which Van Damme also stars in alongside Dave Bautista).

The discussion of whether Van Damme would reprise his role of Master Durand in Kickboxer: Retaliation had been up in the air until July 4, 2016 when he, for the very first time in his acting career history, signed his contract live on video via his official Facebook page. For the past three months, Writer/Director Dimitri Logothetis was discussing Van Damme’s involvement and his character’s story arc in the second installment. Finally they have now come to a collaborative meeting of the minds.

“JC brings his charisma and martial arts talents to Kickboxer as no other actor can,” says Dimitri Logothetis, who also wrote and produced Kickboxer: Vengeance.

As the ink dried, Van Damme explained to his 17M followers that he has less than three weeks left to get back into tip-top shape for Kickboxer: Retaliation, scheduled to commence filming in Thailand next week. The anticipated sequel also stars other world class fighters, athletes and influencers such as Mike Tyson, Ronaldinho, and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, to name a few.

The original 1989 Kickboxer film jumpstarted Van Damme’s career and now 2 1/2 decades later, it was certainly time to reboot the exciting series. Planned as a trilogy, Kickboxer: Retaliation is produced by Our House Films––one of the most exciting new names in independent film production. Founded in 2015, the firm’s executive staff is comprised of highly accomplished veterans of the trade including Rob Hickman, Jay Strommen, Larry Nealy, and Steven Swadling. Nealy, Swadling, and Hickman also serve as executive producers, and producer respectively on Kickboxer: Vengeance.

“We are so beyond thrilled to have Jean-Claude Van Damme sign onto Kickboxer: Retaliation,” says Rob Hickman. “It would have been almost impossible to not have him be a part of our sequel, especially since he means so much to both the franchise and fans.”

Upping the storyline where Kickboxer: Vengeance will leave off, Kickboxer: Retaliation will punch its way into theaters in 2017.

Our House Films Has Entered a Multi-Picture Deal with Stronger Productions

LOS ANGELES (June 27, 2016) – Famed Director, Producer and Writer Chris Bell, known for his hit documentaries Bigger Stronger FasterTrophy Kids, and Prescription Thugs, has recently announced a partnership with producer Mark Matthews, and their mutual creation of Stronger Productions.

“I have admired Chris as a filmmaker since his first project in 2008, and I couldn’t be prouder to begin this partnership,” said Mark Matthews. “We are both very excited to work together, and develop great documentaries and films for years to come.”

With their first lineup of content in progress, Stronger Productions has entered a multi-picture deal with Our House Films, and are now co-producing the documentary, Stronger. Set to capture the lives of Strongmen competitors in their pursuit to be titled the World’s Strongest Man, the film will reveal the ways that these men find balance between their passion and personal life. Footage of current World’s Strongest Man champion Brian Shaw has already been posted on the film’s Instagram page.

“I’ve always been fascinated with the world of strength, and these athletes are among the most impressive men on earth,” Chris Bell says. “I truly believe the film will bring new popularity to this sport and create stars out of these athletes; just like Pumping Iron did for Arnold Schwarzenegger, the bodybuilding industry, and the documentary’s other featured athletes in 1977.”

Aside from co-producing Stronger, Our House Films will also be funding Stronger Productions’ next project, which is currently being kept under wraps; but is said to be much like Chris Bell’s other intimate documentaries.

“When I first saw Prescription Thugs, I knew Chris was in the business of creating a dialogue about some of this country’s greatest travesties,” proclaims Jay Strommen, Chairman of Our House Films. “My team and I are proud to be a part of Chris’ newest documentaries, and it is our hope that we can continue the significant endeavors his films have created.”

Beagle Freedom Project Set to Release Beagles Held in Testing Laboratories, Tomorrow, June 24, 2016

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 23, 2016) – Beagle Freedom Project (BFP), a national non-profit rescue and advocacy organization is thrilled to announce a victory this week for animal rights––and for love overall. Tomorrow, Friday, June 24th, a handful of beagles will feel freedom for the first time.

Not long ago, these dogs were trapped in a lab testing facility, scheduled to be killed because they were no longer useful to researchers. However, thanks to BFP, they will now smell sunshine and soil, instead of cages and chemicals; they’ll be called by real names instead of the federal identification numbers tattooed inside their ears.

BFP negotiates with laboratories around the world for the release of beagles and other animals, helping to set them free from the grueling life of being tested for cosmetics, products, and scientific curiosities. The release of these dogs is the latest in a series of incredible and heroic rescues that BFP has fought for and won.

“There are nearly 70,000 dogs in U.S. labs right now and 96% of them are beagles, the breed of choice because they are so gentle, docile, and forgiving,” explains Shannon Keith, President and Founder of BFP. “This outdated research practice only survives because it remains hidden from the public.”

A momentous occasion for BFP, their latest release is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 12:00pm PST at: 4428 Lennox Ave. Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. Media is invited to witness and capture the beagles’ first moments of freedom when they lay their paws on grass, as well as interview the families who will be taking these dogs home with them.

Originally founded in 2010, BFP has celebrity support from stars like Sia, Chelsea Handler, Maria Menounos, Whitney Cummings, Nikki Reed, and Ian Somerhalder. To date, the advocacy group has rescued over 600 animals and has passed its signature legislation, The Beagle Freedom Bill, in four states, mandating the release of dogs and cats from research. This year, BFP will launch its scientific grant, gifting $250,000 to researchers who develop alternative experiments that eliminate the need to test on animals.

EKC PR Client, Real Estate Mogul and Business Entrepreneur Omar Spahi’s Acquisition of Santa Monica Billion Dollar Residential Building Showcased During Tonight’s Episode of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing”

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 9, 2016) – You’ve heard of a “million dollar listing” but how about a “billion dollar listing?” Omar Spahi, 27-year-old real estate mogul and business entrepreneur, has announced his acquisition of over 40 units at Ocean Towers, the billion dollar, seashore, co-op residential building in beautiful Santa Monica, CA.

Recently, Omar filmed an episode of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing New York, set to air tonight, Thursday, June 9 at 9/8c. The episode will feature NYC realtor Ryan Serhant‘s Los Angeles trip, showcasing his successful visit to Ocean Towers.

Originally built in 1971 and recently renovated, the celebrity driven, 317-unit luxury high rise, located at 201 Ocean Avenue, features 24-hour concierge services, doormen, valet parking, a pool/jacuzzi, sundeck, gym, spa, and maid services. The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units throughout 19 floors offer various exquisite views ranging from the coastline, to the ocean, to the city, and even toward Point Dume.

“When people first experience the spectacular openness of each room, allowing them to capture the breathtaking whitewater views through the wall to wall glass windows, they come to realize just how special this building truly is,” says Omar.

Ocean Towers marks a milestone for Omar Spahi as he is able to bask in his success, having already built a thriving real estate empire three years shy of his 30th birthday. He caught the bug early on from his father John, who himself has made a fortune from property investments, and has taught Omar everything he knows about the business.

“My father was born in Egypt and moved to California in 1975 with only $100.00 in his pocket. He initially worked in other markets before becoming involved with real estate, something he flourished in throughout the west and east coasts,” Omar remarks. “This profession has always been in my blood, and I just love what I do.”

Our House Films’ Kickboxer: Retaliation Keeps Getting Bigger, Literally, as Brian Shaw, “World’s Strongest Man,” Joins the Cast

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 8, 2016) – Three-time “World’s Strongest Man” champion Brian Shaw announced via Instagram on Sunday that he has joined the cast of Kickboxer: Retaliation.

This latest impressive casting in the Kickboxer franchise solidifies its prowess as a star-studded action event, considering the recent cast announcements of soccer sensation Ronaldinho, legendary boxer Mike Tyson, and UFC stars Paige VanZant & Fabricio Werdum. Not to mention the film’s villain — and Brian Shaw’s biggest competition at “World’s Strongest Man” — Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. Altogether, Kickboxer: Retaliation will feature 14+ renowned world champion athletes.

Penned as a trilogy, Kickboxer: Retaliation is the sequel to Kickboxer: Vengeance, the latter starring newcomer Alain Moussi, Gina Carano, and superstars Dave Bautista and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Both films are written by Dimitri Logothetis, who also is directing the second installment.

Upping the storyline where Kickboxer: Vengeance will leave off, the sequel brings Kurt Sloan (Moussi) back to Thailand to fight against a formidable foe, portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson — who also plays “the Mountain” on HBO’s Game of Thrones.

“When we added Hafþór to our cast, we knew it would be difficult for our hero to learn how to defeat a man of such gargantuan size,” admits Rob Hickman, producer of Kickboxer: Vengeance and Kickboxer: Retaliation. “But what better way for our hero to learn than from another mountain of a man — Brian Shaw.”

Larry Nealy and Steve Swadling are executive producing Kickboxer: Retaliation, while Our House Films and Acme Rocket Fuel will serve as the production companies. Principle photography recently wrapped in Nevada, allowing filming to commence in Thailand this July.

“We can’t wait for our audience to see the action we’ve created with these stars, and Shaw’s scenes are going to be beyond memorable,” adds Jay Strommen, chairman of Our House Films. “We are so excited about working with our talented cast, and are pleased that their social influence works nicely in line with the expanding distribution model Our House Films is currently pursuing.”

Kickboxer: Vengeance will punch into theaters this fall, with Kickboxer: Retaliation arriving soon after in 2017!
