OmniPeace Foundation Launches the Pioneering Global Music Box at Dolores Richardson Elementary School
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2024 — With arts education facing increasing challenges, the OmniPeace Foundation, in collaboration with EKC PR, is taking action to revive the power of music in schools through the launch of the Global Music Box. This event, set for October 29, 2024, will take place at Dolores Richardson Elementary School in Inglewood, CA.
The Global Music Box, a transformative “music school in a box,” seeks to revolutionize music education, emphasizing children’s mental and emotional well-being. This initiative offers a new approach to classroom learning, using music as a powerful tool to enhance students’ cognitive, emotional, and social development.
The event will feature an electrifying drum circle curated by Norm Jones—Founder of the Rhythm Child Network, alongside his wife and co-founder, Heather Jones. Norm will engage all 70 students in this immersive session, demonstrating the power of rhythm to unite and uplift the community. The event will also reveal a classroom completely revamped into a music hub, featuring a variety of instruments, a comprehensive curriculum, and an online training platform for educators. Footage from the event will be filmed for an upcoming OmniPeace documentary, promoting the wider vision of the Global Music Box.
Mayor James T. Butts Jr. of Inglewood will attend, lending his support to this crucial initiative.
“Our mission has expanded from building schools in Africa to bringing the advantages of music education to local schools with the Global Music Box,” stated Mary Fanaro, Founder and CEO of OmniPeace Foundation. “Launching this initiative in Los Angeles is only the beginning—we aim to take this life-changing concept worldwide, integrating music into the core of every child’s development.”
Derek Richardson, a passionate advocate for education and supporter of the school, will also be honored at the event. He will join local officials, VIPs, and the 70 participating students in the drum circle, highlighting the significant role music plays in community building and education.
