Based on the novella by Sir Henry Maximilian Beerbohm, Masque tells the story of an aging prizefighter, henchman and gambler named Colorado McBride (Richard Losee), whose dark past is mirrored in his malevolently scarred face. Double-crossed and left for dead by his treacherous business partner Masters, he finds compassion in the arms of Grace (Lauren Holly), a widowed country woman, and in the art of a mysterious Mask Maker (Wilford Brimley) whose skills proffer a mythical journey of restitution.

“Working with a wealth of ability and talent like this has been enormously gratifying,” says producer Matt Hales. “Everyone brought their best to the table and committed to our vision. We opted to shoot on film instead of using digital cameras because we believed in the artistry of the medium. Authenticity is what Masque is all about.”

Masque was most recently nominated for several awards at this month’s Golden Door Film Festival, and won “Best Short Film,” “Best Concept Film,” and “Best Actress” (Lauren Holly).
