LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwired – May 20, 2014) – Jack Topalian is a recognizable face in Hollywood. The versatile, veteran actor and director of stage and screen, reminiscent of James Gandolfini, has found success in both film and television; fans are familiar with his recurring role as “Aram” on Ray Donovan, as well as his roles in Argo, NCIS: Los Angeles, Intelligence, Weeds and a slew of other critically acclaimed projects. Now, Jack is bearing his talents in a more intimate setting opposite Oscar nominated actor Chazz Palminteri and Tony nominated actress Elizabeth Rodriguez in Unorganized Crime at LA’s The Elephant Theatre.
“It is a fantastic amount of fun to play with this ensemble,” quipped Topalian. “We’re bringing out a very natural, very believable piece of art and no one pulls any punches.”
Variety cited Jack’s “fateful” performance as the horny, overreaching landlord Haakim in their review, citing the play as an “…enjoyable comedy-drama in a Tarantino vein,” and paying tribute to the dark, gritty and humorous circumstances that comprise the spellbinding plot.
Stage and Cinema remarked, “Jack Topalian is fantastic as the unscrupulously lascivious landlord Haakim. His appearance is a real show stopper” and Grigware Reviews claims “Topalian is delicious as the slimy sleaze-ball landlord.”
Earlier this year, Jack premiered the crime-drama film, Betrayal, his second feature produced in partnership with T5 Media Group, in which he played a mob boss opposite Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts, and also served as director and co-writer. Set inside the gritty world of the Russian and Armenian mob, it explores the power, struggles, loyalty and vengeance of the men and women who comprise it and sheds light on the humanity, sacrifices and choices we all make in life. Betrayal is distributed domestically through IMG and internationally through ITN. IMDB ranks Betrayal at #7 on Mafia films and #24 on Gangster films.
EKC is elated for the growing fire of this overbearingly talented artist! Unorganized Crime runs through May 31, 2014, at The Elephant Theatre in Los Angeles, so don’t miss out!
