New Travelogue Reality Series “Where I’m From” Finds Undiscovered Adventure In America’s Small Towns

LOS ANGELES, CA (Apr 5, 2016) – Where I’m From, a new 30-minute travelogue series created by Executive Producer Mark Salyer of Appalachia Right At Ya Productions, is giving young individuals an all-access pass to small town life in the United States. Unearthing the hidden treasures tucked away in American soil, the show will feature Conner Wharton, a 17-year-old girl with Southern Belle charm, as she connects with friends from around the country. Together, they discover amazing adventures right in their own “backyards”.

“I have already had the remarkable opportunity to travel to a lot of places — Africa, Russia, China and Europe,” remarks Conner. “But mostly I’ve traveled to big cities, visiting museums, cathedrals and monuments. So rarely have I been able to meet locals and learn about their lives and culture. That’s what I want this show to be about — a chance to truly connect with the places we are visiting in an authentic, personal way.”

Executive Producer Mark Salyer says, “Conner is an extraordinary young person who is great at finding adventure no matter where she is. Although she travels throughout the world, she always loves coming home to the Appalachian Mountains. This is her story — the travelogue of a teenaged girl discovering what makes living in small towns unique and wonderful.”

Where I’m From is set to put an end to the statement “there’s nothing to do around here,” when filming begins this June. Destinations will include California, Colorado, Florida, South Carolina, and in and around Southwest, VA where Conner and her family live.

Be sure to keep up with Where I’m From via social media on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube.
