Angus Benfield Hosts L.A. Red Carpet Premiere of The Keeper

It was a night of celebration and advocacy at Cinemark Playa Vista and XD on May 15, 2024, as EKC PR client Angus Benfield unveiled his new film The Keeper during a special red-carpet premiere. Inspired by the real-life journey of Army veteran George Eshleman, the movie follows one soldier’s transformative trek along the Appalachian Trail, shining a spotlight on the ongoing mental health struggles facing many veterans.

Timed ahead of Memorial Day, the premiere drew a host of cast members, veterans’ advocates, and film enthusiasts who gathered to honor those who serve and explore themes of hope, healing, and recovery. The evening featured a live Q&A with Benfield and key cast members—both on-site and streamed online—offering behind-the-scenes insights and heartfelt discussion on the film’s message.

The Keeper, screened in 16 theaters nationwide, underscores the power of storytelling in raising awareness for veteran suicide and PTSD.
