‘Hook’ Reunion: Lost Boys Remember Robin Williams as Film Turns 25
Though it’s been 25 years, the adventures are hardly over.
The original Lost Boys of the now cult-classic “Hook” reunited for the first time in a photo shoot for the film’s 25 anniversary, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. Members of the cast, including Dante Basco (Rufio) and James Madio (Don’t Ask) took the opportunity to pay homage to the late Robin Williams, who died in 2014.
“I think for all of us [Robin’s death] was the death of our childhood,” Basco said. “There’s sadness there, also there’s a lot of space to kinda celebrate one of the most legendary artists of our time.”
“Hook” marked the big screen debut of many of the Lost boys. Madio added that Williams’ presence on set was both personal and inspiring.
“He kept the set very alive,” Madio said. “He made sure that he had a relationship with each and every one of us.”
Basco also noted the inspiration Williams had on him at a young age.
“[Robin] really taught me at a young age what it means to be a star, what it means to be a leader on a set,” Basco said. “Everything you want Robin Williams to be he delivered in spades.”
ET reported that 22 Vision, the production company behind the cast reunion, spent the past two years trying to get the Lost Boys together.
“‘Hook’ is just one of those movies that people really grew up on,” said Brian Pocrass, CEO and Producer of 22 Vision. “To get them together to remember Robin and celebrate this milestone is something that I loved being a part of.”
