EKC PR client, international award-winning underwater photographer and Los Angeles AP High School Biology teacher, Renee Capozolla, was interviewed today by Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Renee has just recently become the first female photographer and American to ever win the “Underwater Photographer of the Year 2021” by the Underwater Photographer of the Year (UPY) competition –– known as the world’s most prestigious international underwater photography award ceremony.
Her award-winning piece, Shark’s Skylight, was chosen as the winner from over 5,000 entries sent in from 68 different countries. The stunning image, shot in French Polynesia, features an underwater scene of noble and imposing blacktip reef sharks, contrasted with the calm sorbet hues of the above-water sunset.
Interviewed by the beloved Kelly Clarkson for her #WhatI’mLiking segment, Renee spoke candidly about her very exciting win and how it will help her increase awareness of endangered sharks and our fragile marine ecosystems.
