New Travelogue Reality Series “Where I’m From” Finds Undiscovered Adventure In America’s Small Towns

LOS ANGELES, CA (Apr 5, 2016) – Where I’m From, a new 30-minute travelogue series created by Executive Producer Mark Salyer of Appalachia Right At Ya Productions, is giving young individuals an all-access pass to small town life in the United States. Unearthing the hidden treasures tucked away in American soil, the show will feature Conner Wharton, a 17-year-old girl with Southern Belle charm, as she connects with friends from around the country. Together, they discover amazing adventures right in their own “backyards”.

“I have already had the remarkable opportunity to travel to a lot of places — Africa, Russia, China and Europe,” remarks Conner. “But mostly I’ve traveled to big cities, visiting museums, cathedrals and monuments. So rarely have I been able to meet locals and learn about their lives and culture. That’s what I want this show to be about — a chance to truly connect with the places we are visiting in an authentic, personal way.”

Executive Producer Mark Salyer says, “Conner is an extraordinary young person who is great at finding adventure no matter where she is. Although she travels throughout the world, she always loves coming home to the Appalachian Mountains. This is her story — the travelogue of a teenaged girl discovering what makes living in small towns unique and wonderful.”

Where I’m From is set to put an end to the statement “there’s nothing to do around here,” when filming begins this June. Destinations will include California, Colorado, Florida, South Carolina, and in and around Southwest, VA where Conner and her family live.

Be sure to keep up with Where I’m From via social media on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube.

Devan Kline

EKC PR Announces Representation of Devan Kline’s Burn Boot Camp™, Created to Help Mothers Build Happier, Healthier Lives

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 3, 2016) – EKC PR is excited to announce that 28-year-old Devan Kline, founder and CEO of the Burn Boot Camp™ franchise, has been added to their roster of clientele. Burn Boot Camp is dedicated to providing a ‘fit community’ for active mothers to achieve happiness and optimal physical and mental health.

Devan’s entrepreneurial journey first began in professional sports. After devoting his youth to the pursuit of health and fitness, obtaining two Certified Personal Training Certificates (NASM and NCCPT) and a Fitness Specific Nutrition Certification (FNS), Devan secured a degree in Financial Planning from Central Michigan University. Upon graduating, he embarked on a Minor League baseball career with the San Francisco Giants and lived with a host family that gave him a home away from home.

“My host-mom had several children of her own but took it upon herself to care for me and three other guys,” Devan recalls. “Like many mothers, I saw how she neglected herself in order to care for the family. One morning, we had a conversation about nutrition and fitness, and together we helped her lose 45 pounds in 5-6 months. It was a total, complete transformation!”

This firsthand experience awakened Devan’s desire to help mothers everywhere. Today, the Burn Boot Camp franchise operates 38 awarded locations across the United States and plans to open over 1,000 more in the next six years. Their full range of classes include the core Burn Boot Camp curriculum, Burn YogaMen’s CampRapid Fat Loss, and a Fit Mom Ambassador Program that allows motivated members to join the team.

“We’re passionate about what we do and about helping moms feel better about themselves, get more rest, and increase their quality of life,” says Devan. “If you’re looking for a community of healthy, like-minded people, Burn Boot Camp is your answer.”

Be sure to join the Burn Boot Camp movement on FacebookTwitterPeriscope, & Instagram!

Nancy Painter Home

LOS ANGELES, CA (Dec 22, 2015) – Senator Dianne Feinstein was recently honored with the 2015 “Mike & Betty Weinstock Helping Hands Award” on behalf of The Nancy Painter Home for Mothers with Children, a Los Angeles-based transitional housing program devoted to serving the needs of homeless single mothers and their kids.

“More children are homeless in this country than ever before, and the problem is particularly acute in California. Families are living in motels or doubling up with acquaintances because they have nowhere else to go,” said Senator Feinstein. “Organizations like the Nancy Painter Home are essential to helping mothers and their children get housed and build a better future. I’m honored to receive the Helping Hands Award and look forward to working with the Nancy Painter Home and other community groups to end family homelessness.”

In partnership with the Salvation Army, The Nancy Painter Home was founded by three-time Emmy-winning choreographer Walter Painter, who created the organization as a safe haven in honor of his late mother. The sole purpose of the non-profit is to provide a stable and loving environment for single moms who are raising their children sans a proper place to call home. Those fortunate to live under the care of the program are provided with time, support and resources necessary to obtain vocational training, employment, and permanent housing. The Nancy Painter Home is completely volunteer driven, with all proceeds serving their annual operations.

“We were 100% confident in our decision to select Senator Feinstein as this year’s recipient of the ‘Helping Hands Award’,” said Walter Painter. “She has demonstrated great capability in confronting the issues our organization cares deeply about and there was just no other choice as perfect as her!”

Those wishing to apply for housing and care at The Nancy Painter Home may contact the Glendale Salvation Army Branch at 818.246.5586. To support and contribute to The Nancy Painter Home’s efforts, please visit their website.

Be sure to follow The Nancy Painter Home on Facebook for future news and updates!

Allan Felder

Reservoir Acquires Catalog of Allan Felder, Writer-Producer for
The O’Jays, Eddie Kendricks, The Delfonics, & More

NEW YORK, NY (December 8, 2015) Reservoir is pleased to announce the acquisition of the soul and R&B catalog of late songwriter-producer Allan Felder.  The purchase sees Reservoir add over 350 Felder titles from the 1960s to present to its multi-genre portfolio.

With repertoire performed by legendary artists like Ben E. King, Eddie Kendricks, Blue Magic, and The Whispers, Allan Felder’s works are included among some of R&B’s most memorable releases.  The O’Jays’ Survival, which includes the Felder-penned “Let Me Make Love To You”, hit #1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart and was certified Gold in 1975; Lou Rawls’ All Things In Time, including the Felder title “Time”, went Platinum in 1977; The Whispers’ Felder song “I’ve Got A Feeling” was a top 5 single at Disco in 1976; and The Trammps’ Disco Inferno album, boasting Felder’s “Don’t Burn No Bridges”, famously went Gold in 1978.  Felder’s work is emblematic of the famed ‘Philadelphia Sound’ era in R&B, which he fostered as a writer for celebrated record labels Philly International and Salsoul, as well as the lesser-known but equally impactful soul music label Philly Groove Records, which Reservoir acquired in 2012.

Felder’s works have seen samples and interpolations propel his past hits into the present, to additional success. Highlights include the use of Keni Burke’s “Risin’ to the Top” in the Nas track “Hey Nas”, from his 2002 #1 R&B/Hip-Hop Album God’s Son, and again in the 2003 LL Cool J single “Paradise”; The Trammps’ “Rubber Band” in The Game and 50 Cent’s 2005 #1 R&B/Hip-Hop Song, “Hate It Or Love It”; and Eddie Kendricks’ “Goin’ Up In Smoke” in Mariah Carey’s “Meteorite”, included on her 2014 #1 R&B/Hip-Hop album, The Elusive Chanteuse.

Reservoir SVP of Creative and Business Development Faith Newman worked with the surviving Felder family to arrange the acquisition, stating, “It’s incredible to add another historic catalog to the Reservoir family.  Allan Felder and his peers laid the groundwork for contemporary R&B, which remains massively influential to this day.  It’s an honor to have the opportunity to uphold the legacy and longevity of these works just as they deserve to be upheld.”

The Felder acquisition sees Reservoir close a year of notable deals and signings, with additions including internationally acclaimed hip-hop artist Joey Bada$$, breakout artist-production team WatchTheDuck, and the works of Southern rock band Molly Hatchet, among others.
